1) Start writing numbered and highlighted new terms with their definitions INSTEAD OF MAKING FLASH CARDS for chapter 2 sections 1-4 in journal by 2/3.  There are 8, 3, 5 & 1 new terms, respectively, in sections 1, 2, 3 & 4 of chapter 2.  Number this vocabulary from #1 to #17, skip an extra line before each new section and write Section # as subheading before continuing numbered new terms with their definitions.  Please DO NOT start at #1 on each section.
 
1b) Get 4 new handouts, label remaining grey steps on Metric Conversion Table with powers of 10 and matching standard numbers, review units in box and use visual aid to finish Metric Symbols worksheet by 2/4.  Also, do Chapter 2 Practice #1.
 
2) Cover Chapter 2 Sections 1-2 Slides by Thursday, 2/5, and do Chapter 2 Practice # 7-11.
 
3) Use Chapter 2 Sections 3 Slides to finish sections 3 of the Chapter 2 Study Guide by 2/5.  If you do not have a hard copy of the guide, open Chapter 2 SG.doc from uploaded files and write titles of sections on the worksheets with answers on notebook paper.

1a) Open uploaded file Remind 2nd in 2nd block but Remind 3rd in 3rd block, use your student email to follow directions and join Remind for your class by 1/8.  Return signed syllabus by 1/13.  Also, submit Paxton Patterson and General safety contracts by 1/13.  Get blue journal and blue folder in 2nd block but black journal and purple folder in 3rd block.  Use a blue or black Sharpie to write your name, subject and block on the covers.  Number top right corner of front and back sides of each sheet in journal.  Each side is a page; so, 100 sheets in each journal will give pages #1-200.  Leave blue journals and folders in blue crate for 2nd block at the end of each class but black journals and purple folders in black crate for 3rd block.
 
1b) By 1/12, read and highlight matching information on lab safety contract while watching Lab Safety video at Lab Safety Video - YouTube.  Write title Lab Safety Video in Table of Contents of journal and notes from clip on 1st available page after #9.  Memorize how long to flush eyes at emergency eye wash station and how to light a Bunsen burner.  Watch PASS method for using a fire extinguisher at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDI073TW9sY. Use Safety video and notes that you take on these topics to study.  Get 2nd copy of safety contract, fill in name and date, highlight or underline statements in document that have any form of NEVER, ALWAYS, BEFORE, AFTER or IMMEDIATELY in them.  Turn in work and take test over lab safety by Tue., 1/13.
 
1c) Join Paxton Patterson course at Paxton Patterson by 1/12 and complete Lab Basics in LMS there by 1/20/26.  Take Checkpoint Test from main menu of Lab Basics module on Wed., 1/14.  The menu shows a list of Days 1-5 and activities.  The test is below Day 5.  This access should make all test scores show in LMS.
