1a) Open uploaded file Remind 2nd in 2nd block but Remind 3rd in 3rd block, use your cell phone or student email to follow directions and join Remind for your class by 1/14.  Get syllabus and safety contract and return them by 1/14.  Get black journal and folder in 2nd block but black journal and blue folder in 3rd block.  Use a blue or black Sharpie to write your name, subject and block on the covers.  Number top right corner of front and back sides of each sheet in journal.  Each side is a page; so, 100 sheets in each journal will give pages #1-200.  Leave black journals and folders in black crate for 2nd block at the end of each class but black journals and blue folders in blue crate for 3rd block.
 
1b) By 1/15, read and highlight matching information on lab safety contract while watching Lab Safety video at Lab Safety Video - YouTube.  Write title Lab Safety Video in Table of Contents of journal and notes from clip on 1st available page after #9.  Memorize how long to flush eyes at emergency eye wash station and how to light a Bunsen burner.  Watch PASS method for using a fire extinguisher at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDI073TW9sY. Use Safety video and notes that you take on these topics to study.  Highlight or underline statements in safety contract that have NEVER, ALWAYS, BEFORE, AFTER or IMMEDIATELY in them.  Complete #1b by 1/15.  
 
2a) By Wednesday 1/15, open Lab Gear Handouts on common lab equipment, which is uploaded in files below, study and use visuals to draw and label favorite 5 pieces of equipment on next available page of your journal.  Label gear with correctly spelled name and brief description of purpose for equipment in each drawing.  Watch video on common equipment at Chemistry Lab Equipment (youtube.com) and complete presentation of 3 to 6 items of lab equipment at assigned seats with table mates by 1/16.  Rotate through 3 to 4 tables for review of all lab gear before starting Kahoot! 3b) By 1/23, cover section 2 of chapter 1, use slides or textbook to make 1 flash card with 4 review and new terms.  Number and underline Review and New Vocabulary words on cards.  Please write definition for each word behind it on opposite side of card.  Do section 2 of chapter 1 study guide by technology break.  View Hypothesis, Theory and Law in Science at https://study.com/learn/lesson/theory-hypothesis-law-differences-examples.html, write notes on clip in journal and two statements.  One sentence must tell how observation, hypothesis, theory and law are alike, but the other statement must tell how these terms are different.

2a.  Start covering Chapter 2 Section 2 Slides on Thursday, 9/9, mark objectives, number and highlight new terms with their definitions and do Chapter 2 Practice # 7-11.

3. Use Chapter 2 Sections 3 Slides or pages in textbook to do sections 3 of the Chapter 2 Study Guide by 9/10, for extra credit.  If you do not have a hard copy of the guide, open Chapter 2 SG.doc from uploaded files and write titles of sections on the worksheets with answers on notebook paper.
 
4. Discuss/improve answers to Chapter 2 Practice #12-21 by 9/10.
