Make 17 flash cards with the attached handout on 17 common polyatomic ions.  Use 3 different colors for the 3 positions: script on the line, superscript above the line and subscript below the line.  All superscripts should be in the same 1 color chosen for that position, etc.  Write the full name of the ion on one side of the index card and the symbol of that ion on the other side of the card.  Try to write large enough to fill space on card.

Peruse all slides in EOC Review power point, study outline or study guide and use Standards in class during review of all content and preparation for EOC exam.  I will give out hard copies on Monday, 11/27/17 so that each student has these materials for 8 school days before the exam.  Our review together will happen over 5 school days, starting on Monday, 11/27/17.  EOCs start this week and intensify 12/4.  Ideally full review and preparation will end before heavy testing starts.  On 11/27, I will give each student a copy of his/her results from online practice EOC test, a grid for corrections as extra credit and if possible 1 hard copy of the old sample EOC.  This way students who prefer to earn extra credit and prepare further outside class can.  See attachments.

Click on http://www.learner.org/interactives/periodic/building/ to practice arranging electrons correctly in an atom based on information in the Periodic Table.  Afterwards, get great at using this reference to describe trends there, to write electron configurations and to draw orbital diagrams.  Also, learn how to explain patterns in the Table with 1 idea in 2 parts, i.e., effective nuclear charge from atomic number and electron shielding.
