English IV Honors

This course will focus on reading and comprehending British Literature, including fiction and literary nonfiction, in the grades 11-12 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range. Throughout the course students will write routinely over extended time frames for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audience, with a focus on a major research paper. Attention will be given to accurately using general academic and domain-specific words and phrases, sufficient for reading, writing, speaking, and listening at the college and career readiness level. Students will complete a Final Exam upon completion of this course.
