Class of 2012 Graduation
The Class of 2012 will graduate Friday, May 11, 7:00 p.m., at MTSUs Murphy Center Complex. The senior breakfast at 8:30 a.m. kicks off the
day of festivities. Graduation rehearsal begins at 10:00 a.m. at Murphy Center. Students must attend the rehearsal in order to walk that night. Students need to be at Murphy Center by 6:15 p.m. to line up for graduation.
Senior Exams
Senior exams will be held on Monday, May 7 (1st & 2nd blocks), and Tuesday, May 8 (3rd & 4th blocks).
Childcare Graduation
Holloway Harbor will have the Childcare Graduation at Patterson Park on Friday, May 4th, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This is always a fun event that honors Holloway's little ones.
End-of-Course Exams
End-of-Course exams are scheduled for Tuesday, May 1st, through Thursday, May 3rd. Students be sure to get plenty of rest and be on time that week.

Winners of the Creative Writing and Arts Club Contest
Winners of the Creative Writing and Arts Contest were recently announced. Tara Allen won for writing the poem You Can't See Me, and Austin Kerstetter won for his illustration titled Ciara. The students work is featured in the February issue of Voices of Holloway Halls creative newsletter.
Early Dismissal Day March 8
Thursday, March 8, is an early dismissal day for students. Students at Holloway will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

Valentine's Day Fundraiser
Buy that special someone a Valentine's treat and help raise funds for the senior prom and graduation festivities. Candy Grams are $.75 or 2 for $1.00. Spring Pictures

Health Fair
In recognition of Diabetes Awareness month, Holloway is sponsoring a health fair for students on Monday, November 21 from 8:30 until 11:00 a.m. Students will be able to visit booths and engage in various activities.

Hawk Walk, Friday, October 28
A full day of activities are planned for the Hawk Walk on Friday, October 28, starting with the walk around the Murfreesboro square. Some of the activities include a party room (club CY), corn hole, 3-on-3 basketball and Wii games.Cost of the wristband is $5.00. Students will be able to purchase pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies, and drinks at lunch time. Students with a signed permission slip from their parents will be allowed to leave at 2:00 p.m.

Smyrna Bowling Center Donates $500 to the Holloway Media Center
Thank you Smyrna Bowling Center for donating $500.00 to purchase new nonfiction materials for the Media Center at Holloway. The students, faculty, and staff will benefit from the donation for years to come.
Online Book Fair to Benefit the Media Center
We are raising money to update our school library collection by hosting an Online book fair. School libraries are important to education, and the average age of our nonfiction collection is 1996. Holloway Students Participate in Commerical
Several students at Holloway participated in a commerical for the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of Rutherford County (CADCOR) and the Tennessee State Department of Mental Health. Awards Day/Senior Picnic is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, at 10:00 a.m. The senior breakfast will be at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, and will be followed by the graduation rehearsal at MTSU Murphy Center Complex from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Seniors will return to Murphy Center that evening by 6:15 p.m. for line-up. Graduation will start at 7:00 p.m.

Two at Holloway Win YMCA Awards
Holloway student Charlisia Frazier and teacher Sarah Wells won the outstanding student and educator award from the Rutherford and North Rutherford County YMCA. The award recognizes outstanding students and teachers that have demonstrated leadership and dedication to their schools and/or communities.
Prom Fundraiser at Kirkenburts Smokehouse Grill April 12
The Breakfast Rotary Club of Murfreesboro is sponsoring a fundraiser for Holloway's Prom at Kirkenburts Smokehouse Grill on Cason Lane Tuesday evening, April 12. Ten percent of all sales that evening will go to Holloway in support of the senior prom. Spread the word and we look forward to seeing everyone at Kirkenburts on Tuesday evening.

Fifteen students from Holloway High School attended the 10th Annual Education Equal Opportunity Group, Inc. (EEOG) Leadership and Training Conference on February 23-25. Students gained valuable insight into the world of business and entrepreneurship through workshops and sessions.

Greenhouse Ministries Provides FREE Health Screening
The Mobile Health Unit will be at Holloway on Wednesday, March 16, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for FREE health screenings. The health screenings consist of comprehensive lab work (FAST for 10-12 hours prior to test--drink water only) that checks for heart, liver, kidney functions, cholesterol, glucose, iron, soduim, and potassium levels. The screenings also include blood pressure, body composition and height and weight. Wear sleeves that can be rolled up for the lab draw and blood pressure. EEOG's 10th Annual Project Leadership and Training Conference
This opportunity is open to students interested in learning about the business world. Holloway Receives a Driving Simulator
The Discovery Center recently donated a "Driving Simulator" to Holloway High School for the Drivers Education Class. This is the first time Drivers Education has been offered at Holloway, and the driving simulator adds a whole new and exciting dimension to teaching the class. Thank you to the Discovery Center!

Student Council Elections
The Student Council plays a very important role in every school. They help share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with the teachers and princial. Elected officers help with many other school-wide and community projects. The election for Student Council will be held on Friday, August 27, during Hawk Time in the gymnasium.
Holloway Wins Projector from Red Cross
Holloway High School won a projector from the Red Cross organization recently. Schools that held at least two blood drives during the 2009-2010 school year were entered into a contest for a digital projector in which Holloway won. Patty Wright, Red Cross Representative, delivered the projector to Mr. Bridgeman, Principal, and Mrs. Palmer, Librarian, on Wednesday, August 18.

Holloway's schedule has changed this year; the new bell schedule is 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Holloway receives $5,000 from Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant
Holloway has been selected to receive $5,000 for the 2009-2010 Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant from the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation for Operation Gymnasium. The money will be used to construct sports lockers and cabinets in the gymnasium for the visitor team locker room. THANK YOU Lowe's!
